Snake slithers into view from Orange Film Studios

Imagine a monster with such a horrifyingly mammoth appetite, it will eat anything and everything in its path... and as it gobbles up its terrified victims, it just gets bigger and bigger...

Well, the legendary mobile game 'Snake' does just that.

Sigourney Weaver stars in SNAKE, the epic cinematic interpretation of the famous game. You'll be able to watch this, the latest cinema advert brought to you from Orange Film Studios, in cinemas across the country, right before your film begins.

SNAKE is set in an ancient land of mystery and magic. The computer-generated snake eats up as many people as possible. Can Sigourney's character stop it from destroying the human race? Not likely, if Director Dresden and Producer Eliot have anything to do with it...

To accompany SNAKE, a game of the movie of the game (still with us?!) has been created too. Dresden explained the concept to us:

"The format's simplicity itself. Imagine the most horrifying thing in the world. It's being eaten alive by a snake, right? The genius of SNAKE is that it takes that and just runs with it. Lots of people get eaten. And I means like, loads."

We've embedded the SNAKE game above for you to have a play. See how far you can get, as each level gets faster and provides more obstacles for you to master. We got to level 5, so not exactly top of the leader board, but it's a lot of fun to fill some afternoon downtime with.

Even better, you can share and play it with your Facebook pals and embed it on your site, or blog, too. Now what could be more fun than eating up your own mates?

We're struggling with that one, you know ;-)

  1. Every time I load the feed page, the video for Snake start automatically therefore I have to scroll down, found the tiny speaker icon to stop the sound and then scroll back all the way to finally play the video I want...annoying..

  2. Well, User Testing, what can I say? We're rather dismayed you've found it so annoying (but very glad that you've been coming to the blog to watch the videos).

We've got the game there because we want people to have a go and play when they visit that particular post. But we can certainly appreciate that if you've been, seen, played already, and want to look at something else, then well... it's going to get on your wick.

So we've put in a call to the brains behind the embed code, to see if there's a cheeky something we can add in there to mute the sound when it launches. If so, win:win all round.

In the meantime, rest assured that once a couple more posts are up, the SNAKE game will be relegated to page two anyway, so it won't be a problem anymore.

So thanks for bothering to let us know it got up your nose. At least that way we can look at doing something about it. And we hope it doesn't prevent you from coming back to watch our video content in the future :)
