today we've gone volunteering...

Volunteers getting stuck in at a project earlier this year

It’s very quiet in The Feed office today because we’ve downed keyboard and picked up our spades for a field trip.

We’re at Stepping Stones Farm in Stepney, East London. The City Farm and Rural Crafts Centre has been running for thirty years in order to give East Londoners the chance to experience rural life. It’s entirely run and maintained by volunteers and so we're there with Orange RockCorps, lending a hand.

Along with some of the Orange team we'll be digging, cutting and planting in order to create a ‘sensory’ kitchen garden and a mushroom area for the farm’s adorably named Fairy Garden.

We’ll be taking loads of photos and video, plus chatting to the volunteers and quizzing the folks who work at the farm. We’ll put it all up on The Feed later for you to enjoy.

There are still a few Orange RockCorps volunteering projects in the run up to the Royal Albert Hall gig, so head over to the Orange RockCorps site to register.

Can't make it? No fear. Join the Orange RockCorps Collective and you can take part in volunteering projects across the UK, wherever and whenever you want, and still get great music rewards.

Now hand us that shovel.
