mind your manners

Here in the Uk, we love a trip to the flicks. That's a given. But what we don't love is bad movie manners, or as an Orange Wednesdays survey has dubbed it, poor 'Cinetiquette'.

Familiar with the irritating rustle of sweet papers during that hushed, tense cinematic moment? Ever had your seat kicked repetitively by a gaggle of giggling kids? Couldn't see over the top of the massive haircut in front of you? Then you're not alone. Here's the bugbear stats from those surveyed, in all their annoying glory...

46% find kicking the back of the seat unacceptable

15% said it was having the view of the screen blocked that got up their nose

15% can't stand other people whispering and quoting back movie lines (we don't need a running commentary people!)

14% are wound up by those who forget to turn their mobile phone off

2% found kids throwing popcorn made their blood boil

But it's not all bad behaviour. Apparently us Brits like to steal a kiss at the cinema, with only one per cent of those surveyed by Orange Wednesdays saying it would make them feel uncomfortable.

So with Orange Wednesdays 2 for 1 goodness less than a day away, this is the perfect time to plan a sneaky smooch for tomorrow night. Just head to Orange's Film page to plan that hot date and remember to bagsy your seat in the back row, film fans ;)
