Orange and Samsung launch world's first Welsh handset

Syniad arbennig! It's hard to believe it's never been done before. But next month Orange launches the world's ever first Welsh language phone.

Not only is the Samsung S5600 a sleek touchscreen handset. It also features predictive text in Welsh! Special new software, developed by Samsung, can predict over 40,000 Welsh words.

This has been a long, long awaited feature for Welsh phone users. S4C TV presenter Alex Jones can't wait to get her.

“It’s perfect for people like me who do a lot of our conversing in Welsh," he says. “Things like typing and sending text messages are so much easier on this phone as opposed to the issues we all face with English-only phones."

Yay! The Samsung S5600 is available exclusively on Orange on PAYM and PAYG from 1st September. Chwarae teg, Orange.

I called into my local Orange shop this morning and the sales assistant had never heard of the new Welsh phone!
I wonder if anyone else has expreienced the same - it's a shame as I was looking forward to getting a new phone.

  5. So you went to the Orange shop in Bangor and they didn't have it? Let me ask for you here at Orange HQ and perhaps we can find out another location where you can get the handset.
