We've got some final nuggets of news gold from Mobile World Congress (MWC), so step this way. Oooh and indeed, aaah...
On Tuesday we talked about Nokia's virtual application store Ovi.com and we've picked up from the whispering in the blogosphere that this is a recurring theme at the MWC this year.
Mobile Industry Review have commented on this point too and we are delighted to see that this means more choice, more nifty phone apps to enjoy and importantly, more access to them than ever before.
Yesterday Google showed a demo concept of a new platform that will allow users to access their gmail account from their mobile when they're offline. This will be available on a number of different smartphones, for all networks, and will open up email on the move to many more of us. We'll be keeping an ear to the ground for rumblings of when this goes live.
Sony Ericsson have wowed again with a new phone called Idou, pictured above. The manufacturer is keeping schtum about some of the features (all the better to wow us with later in 2009) but it will have Wi-Fi and 3G built in. That's not the jaw-dropper though: the Idou boasts an amazing 12.1 Mp camera.
Which just leaves the question, are you ready for your close-up?
